Chapter 1 🖤
The story differs depending on who you ask - but things began in 2008 when Dennis and Jamie met in college. It was not love at first sight, but it was something. An evening of dancing at a local favorite spot, Wild West, left Dennis wondering more about Jamie. Some time passed as they got to know each other with a little help from some friends and the two decide to become an item. The note read: Will you be my girlfriend? Check YES or NO. I think we know what she said. However, in the words of Beverly Pritchard, (Jamie's grandmother): "Timing is 99% of relationships." Turns out she was right and the timing wasn't. Their relationship was short lived.
Chapter 2 🤍
Fast forward to November 2017 - much of life has happened for both and the Houston Astros are playing for the World Series. Dennis and Jamie kept tabs on each other throughout the years with some sporadic hangouts and of course, social media. Communicating through Snap Chat, Jamie makes a move and reaches out to Dennis with excitement when the Astros win! Conversations continue and Dennis asks Jamie out to dinner. They make a phone call to her brother after dinner where he says: "Don't be messing with my head now you guys." We weren't, Ty. January 8, 2018 they begin dating for a second time, and this timing is right. After some long distance dating between Houston and Midland, Jamie moves to Midland, and two years later they make a move across country to Raleigh, NC.

Thursday, November 3, 2022 started out like any other day. It's funny how things come full circle - the weekend the Astros are up to win another world series - Dennis was living in Washington, DC and Jamie was finishing out the school year in Raleigh. When she arrived home from a pretty long day in an outfit that she didn't love and with a hairdo that needed a good brush, she had the surprise of her life. Dennis was standing in the living room with some their family. Jamie, completely shocked, stood frozen in the doorway. When she finally made her way into the house for a big hug and embrace, it was then that Dennis got down on one knee and asked: "Will You Marry Me?" Through tears she obviously answered, "YES!" and "Thanks!"
